What is a Request for Judicial Intervention?

Pursuant to the New York Uniform Rules, a request for judicial intervention or ‘RJI’ is a form that may be filed by any party, at any time after service of process. The filing of an RJI commences the process of assigning an action to a judicial officer. An RJI must be filed before any party can bring any type of motion.
