New York Pro Hac Vice
A motion for admission pro hac vice asks the court to admit an attorney to practice before that court for one action only. An attorney brings a motion to be admitted pro hac vice seeking permission to appear before the court in a jurisdiction in which she is not licensed to practice. In most jurisdictions, an attorney can be admitted pro hac vice so long as she is admitted in at least one jurisdiction and files a notice to appear as the attorney of record for the case. Some jurisdictions require pro hac attorneys to retain local counsel.
