Florida Compel Discovery
An opposition to a motion to compel discovery requests that the court refrain from ordering the opposing party to provide certain discovery. A party can oppose a motion to compel on grounds that, among other things, the information sought is irrelevant, is unlikely to lead to discoverable evidence, violates the attorney-client privilege, or imposes an undue burden or extreme inconvenience on the responding party. Opposition papers are usually supported by a statement of facts, a legal brief or memorandum with citations to legal authority, and if necessary, exhibits, declarations, and affidavits. SmartRules Florida simplifies the rules for complying with codes, rules of court, civil procedure and local court rules, in a single search. SmartRules covers pleadings, timing, format, motion practice, subpoenas, filing and service.
