Leave to File Cross-Complaint
An opposition to a motion for leave to file a cross-complaint requests that the court refuse to grant the moving party leave to file a cross-complaint. Leave to file a cross-complaint is freely granted unless granting the motion would lead to adverse and prejudicial consequences to the other party. An opposition must present to the court the reasons why prejudice or adversity would result. Opposition papers are usually supported by a statement of facts, a legal brief or memorandum with citations to legal authority, and if necessary, exhibits, declarations, and affidavits.
