An opposition to a motion for continuance requests that the court refuse to grant the requested continuance. An opposition to a motion for continuance will likely attack the grounds offered by the moving party as legally insufficient to justify a continuance, and argue that the proceeding should go forward as scheduled. Opposition papers are usually supported by a statement of facts, a legal brief or memorandum with citations to legal authority, and if necessary, exhibits, declarations, and affidavits.
